Introduction


A career in corporate training looks exciting to many students. Indeed it is exciting but the path to be a corporate trainer is pretty long. Corporate training is a job that one can do after gaining considerable experience. The opportunities for trainers are immense as lot of people are looking to fill their skill gaps and companies are also looking for people to provide training to their staff.

What do trainers do?
Trainers usually work for training centers or for a company that provides training internally. They impart skill to the trainees, sometimes technical or soft skills or depending on the needs of the organisations.

Course And Eligibility


To be a successful trainer one needs to be expert in the skill that one wants to impart. The skill can be learned with experience (eg technical expertise) or through education in that special field. One can also do a Diploma in training after educational/Professional course. Masters in Human resource management and additional diploma in training. For Diploma in Training and Development offered by Indian Society of Training and Development the eligibility is Graduation with minimum 2 years work experience or PG degree or Post-Graduate Degree or equivalent Diploma in Business Management, Personnel Management or any other recognized discipline. A professionally recognised qualification like BE, ME, MBBS, CAIIB, ACA, AICWA, M Ed etc. inclusive of degree level education, OR Armed Forces Officers who have successfully undergone course at NDA /IMA / OTA/ Air Force Academy / Indian Naval Academy and have a minimum of two years working experience.

Course Fees


ISTD charges Rs.25,000/- for its diploma program.

Pay and Remuneration


The earnings of corporate trainers depends on their expertise and experience. While a soft skills trainer in the beginning can expect to earn around Rs 3-4 lakhs, some experienced trainers charge upto a lakh for a a 2-3 days program.
